English can be hard to pronounce. I think that there must be people with certain native language backgrounds that struggle more than others though. Am I right?
I mean, for example, maybe a Swedish person has fewer problems with English pronunciation than, let's say a Spanish or Arabic or Chinese speaker.
Which challenges do you face?

Hi,
that's a relevant question actually.
I see eye to eye with you, some mother tongues allow to improve much faster than the others.
I am convinced that in northern Europe for instance (Sweden, Netherlands, Norway...) it's easier to make headway swiftly because their mother tongues are closer to the English language as far as the sound the intonation and the pronunciation are concerned.
It's doesn't mean that you cannot enhance your speaking skills but it's likely to take more time.
I am French and some parts of the English accent are much trickier for us, practising in a right way with accuracy is necessary in order to wipe out our native pitfalls.
However in spite of that success only hinges on your motivation determination and how much you work on your objective.
Anything is possible provided that you believe in yourself.

Hi, I`m Hungarian and I`m struggling with the English pronunciation. I mean yes, I can pronounce the words somehow, but I never sound British. The Hungarian intonation is really different to the British or American and I`m wondering how I could improve my accent and sound more natural, more British  Regards, Tamas |
